The Dancing Flag

This is the last sound I captured on my Soundwalk. It is the sound of a flag blowing in the wind and brushing against itself and clank against the metal pole that it's hanging on. Also you will hear water running, birds chirping and a car driving by. I captured this sound on Webster and in between Prospect Ave and Stowell Ave. The reason I like this sound is because normally I would never stop and listen to the sound a flag makes in the wind and I find it to be very different and unique. Here is a picture of where I captured this sound.

Down The Alley

This is the 4th sound I captured, It is the sound of a dog barking and water running into a sewer. I captured this sound on N Farwell Ave and in between Belview and Webster. It was located in an Alley. I love the combination of the dog and the water running, because it gives off an annoying feeling and yet a calming one. Here is a picture of where I captured the sound.

Listen To The Bells

This is the 3rd sound I captured on my Soundwalk. It is a sound of church bells, water running and a car revving its engine in the background. I captured this sound on N Farwell Ave and Belview. I liked this sound because I thought the church bells and the revving engine almost sounded like they were talking back and forth to each other. Here is a picture of where I captured the sound.

Song Of The Piano and Guitar

Here are two sounds that I captured in the same location. I captured these two sounds on Park, in between N Maryland Ave and N Farwell Ave. As I was walking, I could hear a piano playing in the distance. I followed the sound to it's source which lead me to a house. I ended up standing outside the house listening to someone play the piano and then later the guitar for about a half an hour. These are by far my most favorite sounds that I recorded on my Soundwalk. Here is a map of where I recorded these two sounds.

The first recording is the playing of the piano. You will hear the piano playing, water running, a car passing and an airplane. I love how the piano starts playing then you hear a car and the car sound almost transforms into the plane. Listen Here

The next sound is the sound of the guitar playing. At the beginning of the recording you will here a door slam, you'll also hear water running, cars driving past and the guitar playing. Listen Here

Melted Snow

This is the first sound that I captured using my two stereo microphones on my Soundwalk. I captured this sound on N Maryland Ave and E Park. This is a sound of melted snow water running into a sewer. I like this sound because you can hear the echoes of the water when it hits the bottom of the sewer. Here is a picture of where I captured the sound

Walk Strategy

For my soundwalk I plan to start on the corner of Frederick and Park and head East. I plan to make a zigzag pattern by alternating every two blocks, first taking a right and then taking a left two blocks later and so on.

Here is my starting point for my Soundwalk.

Map of Soundwalk

Here is the map of my Soundwalk route. It shows the start and end locations along with the different stops I made along the way. At each stop there is a description of the sounds I captured. Here is the map
